Home compostables: compostability tests certified by DIN CERTCO and TÜV AUSTRIAat WESSLING GreenLab
WESSLING GreenLab is the first laboratory of the WESSLING international group certified by DIN CERTCO to conduct compostability and biodegradability tests. WESSLING GreenLab is certified as OK HOME compost, OK INDUSTRIAL compost and Seedling. This new certificate, together with the TÜV AUSTRIA certification, attests to the quality of the laboratory opened in 2020.
From September 2022, manufacturers of packaging or compostable products can call on WESSLING experts if they want a DIN CERTCO certification of their products. The equivalent TÜV AUSTRIA certification was obtained by WESSLING in February 2022. It determines whether the tested materials are compostable or, in the case of biodegradability, degradable in the natural environment such as water or soil - all without harming the environment. Thus, a product tested and validated by the WESSLING GreenLab laboratory can directly receive one or more certifications, depending on the target market and the tests performed and validated.
WESSLING can now issue the following certifications:
- COMPOSTABLE AT HOME (FROM CERTCO)
- OK HOME Compost (TÜV Austria)
- OK Compost INDUSTRIAL (TÜV Austria)
- Seedling
Why use independent compostable product certification?
WESSLING GreenLab in Isère, France is a laboratory for testing compostability and biodegradability of products. The logos of independent certification bodies, such as DIN CERTCO or TÜV AUSTRIA, ensure the quality, efficiency and reliability of the tested products in front of customers and consumers.
