1. Information about the collection of personal data

1.1 The following information relates to the collection of personal data during visits to our website. These are data which refer to you personally, e.g. name, address, email addresses, patterns of usage.

1.3 If we rely on contracted service providers for individual functions of our offer, or if we would like to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail about the respective processes below.

In this case we will also specify the criteria for the term of storage.

2. Your rights

2.1 Your rights with regard to your personal data are as follows:

  • Right of access
  • Right to rectification or erasure
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right to object to data processing
  • Right to data portability

2.2 You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data.

3. Collection of personal data during visits to our website

3.1 If you visit our website for information purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the personal data which your browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we will collect the following data which are technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to guarantee stability and security (legal basis is Art. 6 (1) section 1 f) GDPR):

  • IP address– Date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (specific page)
  • Access status/HTTP status code
  • Volume of data transmitted in any given case
  • Website from which the request is sent– Browser
  • Operating system and its interface
  • Language and version of the browser software

3.2 In addition to the aforementioned data, cookies will also be stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your hard drive and assigned to the browser you are using and through which certain information is sent to the body which places the cookie (us in this case). Cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to make the website easier to use and more efficient overall.

3.3 Use of cookies:

a) This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and functions of which are explained below:

  • Transient cookies (see b)
  • Persistent cookies (see c)

b) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. These include the session cookies, which store a session ID with which various requests sent by your browser can be assigned to the common session. This will allow your computer to be recognised when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.

c) Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period which can vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time in the security settings in your browser.

d) You can configure your browser settings as you wish and refuse the acceptance of third-party cookies or all cookies, for example. Please note that you may not be able to use all functions of this website in this case.

4. Contact form

When you contact us by email or using a contact form, the data which you provide (your email address, where applicable your name and telephone number) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions. We delete the data provided in these cases once their storage is no longer necessary, or we restrict the processing if statutory retention obligations apply.

The legal basis for the processing of the data transmitted in the course of sending an email is Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR. If contact is made by email with a view to entering into a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR.

5. Customer portal

5.1 You can register to use our customer portal in which case you will be asked to provide personal data.


The registration details will be recorded in writing in a process overseen by the customer advisor in charge of your account. 

Registered customers can order analyses and view the results of their analyses through the customer portal. We also provide an online archive for the analyses previously carried out for the customer. 

5.2 When registering through a customer advisor, the form provided by the latter must be completed. The data will not be passed on to third parties. The following data will be collected and stored for each customer account which is set up in the course of the registration process:

  • Company name
  • Forename
  • Surname
  • email address

In the course of the registration process, the user is asked to give consent to the processing of these data. As the user you have the option of cancelling the registration at any time.

5.3 If you use our portal, we store the data required to fulfil the contract until you finally delete your access. We also store the optional data provided by you for the duration of your use of the portal, unless you delete it beforehand. You can manage and change all the information in the secure area for customers.

If you place analysis orders through the customer portal, we are obliged under commercial and tax law to store your address details, payment details and order data for a period of 10 years. However, after two years we will place a restriction on the processing, i.e. your data will be used only to comply with the legal obligations.

The legal basis for the use of your data is Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR in cases where you have given consent and Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR in cases where contracts are concluded through the customer portal.

6. WESSLING Cloud

6.1 You can register to use our WESSLING Cloud in which case you will be asked to provide personal data. The registration details will be recorded in writing in a process overseen by the customer advisor in charge of your account.

The WESSLING Cloud is used to exchange large amounts of data with registered customers. Expert reports and extensive analyses which are not suitable for sending by email can be sent to the customer via the WESSLING Cloud, for example.

6.2 When registering through a customer advisor, the form provided by the latter must be completed. The data will not be passed on to third parties. The following data will be collected and stored for each customer account which is set up in the course of the registration process:

  • Company name
  • Forename
  • Surname
  • email address

In the course of the registration process, the user is asked to give consent to the processing of these data. Processing also includes sending an email to the email address which you have provided if we have entered new data for you. As the user you have the option of cancelling the registration at any time.

6.3 If you use our portal, we store the data required to fulfil the contract until you finally delete your access. 7. Newsletter

7.1 If we have received your email address in connection with the sale of a service or goods and you have not objected to the use of your email address, we will in future provide you with information about any similar goods or services. 

The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation (Datenschutz-Grundverordnung, DSGVO) as well as Section 7 (3) of the Protection against Unfair Competition Act (Gesetz gegen unlauteren Wettbewerb, UWG).

You can object to the sending of the newsletter and unsubscribe at any time. You can object by clicking the link provided in every newsletter email, by emailing info@wessling.de or by sending a message to the contact details which can be found in the imprint.

7.2  In all other cases we will only send you our newsletter if you have registered for it and given your consent. Our newsletter informs you about our latest interesting offers. The goods and services advertised are named in the declaration of consent.

For subscription to our newsletter we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after you register we send an email to the cited email address and ask you to confirm that you wish to have the newsletter sent to you. In addition, we store the IP address you have used and the times of registration and confirmation. The purpose of this procedure is to have proof of your registration and, if necessary, to be able to trace any possible misuse of your personal data.The only compulsory information required for sending the newsletter is your email address. The provision of additional, separately marked data is voluntary and is used in order to be able to address you by name. After you have confirmed, we will store your email address for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. 

The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 letter a DSGVO.

7.3  You may withdraw your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time and discontinue receiving it. You can withdraw your consent by clicking on the link provided in each newsletter email, [via this form on the website], by sending an email to info@wessling.de] or by sending a message to the address given in the contact details cited in the imprint.

7.4 Our newsletter is sent via henworx Gmbh & Co. KG, Berliner Platz 8, 48143 Münster, Germany.

henworx GmbH & Co KG will use your data only for sending our newsletter, as detailed above. Your data will not be forwarded to third parties or be used for any other purposes.

The legal basis for forwarding your details to henworx Gmbh & Co. KG, Berliner Platz 8, 48143 Münster is Art. 6 (1) letter f DSGVO as well as a contract for the processing of orders in accordance with Art. 28 (3) sentence 1 DSGVO.

8. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). The Google Analytics service uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer enabling an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookies about your use of this website will generally be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If you enable the IP address anonymity function on this website, however, then your IP address will be abbreviated beforehand by Google within Member States of the European Union and in other signatories to the Treaty on the European Economic Area.
